Metra Releases Mobile App For Updating Axxess Interfaces and ASWC-1 Functions
New Axxess Updater Allows ease of update and control.
Holly Hill, Fla. — June 2014 — Metra Electronics, the world leader and “The Installer’s Choice™” for vehicle installation kits and electronic accessories, has released a mobile app for the Axxess line of product. The application is now available to download for free from the Google Play store for Android.
Through the app, Axxess users will be able to update any current Axxess interface from the convenience of their Android based smart phone or tablet. Used in conjunction with the On The Go (OTG) cable, Metra part number AX-OTG1AN, and the updating cable specific to the interface, the update can be done seamlessly from the app. The app will auto-detect the interface, scan the current firmware, and allow the user to force update if necessary.
The app offers advanced functions for dealers and technicians. The app can obtain compatible vehicle specific Axxess Steering Wheel Control (ASWC-1) instructions directly onto their phone or tablet. Users can change ASWC-1 controls without the confusion of buttons and LEDs. Users will also be able to remap and dual assign SWC buttons with ease. This app maximizes user convenience and mobility with their smartphones and tablets.
